Big Ben

Tower Bridge
Suspended over the River Thames, this two-tower bridge can be accessed by both pedestrians and vehicles.

Home of the monarchy, and a gathering place for Brits in times of both celebration and tragedy.

River Thames
Some of the best views of London can be had on a boat tour on the Thames. Visitors also stroll and cycle alongside of this legendary waterway.

Transportation
From Heathrow airport, the quickest way to get into London is Heathrow Express, which runs every 15 minutes. The trip takes about 15 minutes.

London's extensive public transportation system includes the famous double-decker buses, the London Underground rail network, Docklands Light Railway (serving East and South East London), London trams, and even River bus services. Public bicycles are also available.

Bonfire Night
A wide array of fireworks go off each year on November 5, when Bonfire Night celebrates Guy Fawkes' attempt to blow up Westminster in the 17th century. Events are held across London.

Changing the Guard
Get to Buckingham Palace early for the daily Changing the Guard, which happens at 11 a.m. (10 a.m. on Sundays).

State Opening of Parliament
This event (check for dates each year) provides a unique opportunity to see the royal family. When Parliament is reopened after summer, the Queen rides in a carriage from Buckingham Palace to the Palace of Westminster. Pomp and ceremony ensues!

Wimbledon
The finest tennis players in the world compete in this tournament, held during the last two weeks of June.

Halsey
Ashley Nicolette Frangipane, an American songwriter and singer, professionally known as Halsey, earned her first chart entry on the Billboard Hot 100 with the single "New Americana." Her debut EP, Room 93, was released in 2014.

Only the Poets
Only the Poets, a UK-based band, is known for their energetic indie-pop sound. Their music, characterized by catchy melodies and relatable lyrics, has resonated with a growing audience, particularly through their live performances.

Magdalena Bay
Magdalena Bay is an electronic pop duo known for their futuristic, synth-driven sound and surreal, internet-inspired aesthetic. DMA'S
DMA'S is an indie rock trio from Australia formed in 2012. They rose to fame with their debut single "Delete" and the following eponymous EP in 2014. LA LOM
LA LOM (Los Angeles League of Musicians) mixes classic Latin sounds like cumbia and bolero with surf rock and jazz. Their vibrant, retro-inspired sets celebrate multicultural LA nightlife.

Maximo Park
Maxïmo Park is an alternative rock band from England formed in 2000. The trio has released several albums including Our Earthly Pleasures and the debut A Certain Trigger which earned a nomination for Mercury Prize. Their most popular singles include "Books From Boxes," "Apply Some Pressure" and "Our Velocity."
